Kimberley Driscoll won the Democratic primary for lieutenant governor of Massachusetts on Tuesday. The primary field in the deep-blue state included Driscoll, state Rep. Tami Gouveia, and state Sen. Eric Lesser. Driscoll, who has been mayor of Salem since 2006, led the contest in polling in the final stretch of the race, according to a Sept. 1 survey from the University of Massachusetts Lowell Center for Public Opinion conducted at the end of August. Little daylight separated the field on policy, and Attorney General Maura Healey, the Democratic gubernatorial nominee, did not endorse anyone in the race.
